Gerty
Private AI assistant that runs fully on your Mac
What is Gerty?
Gerty is a private AI assistant for Macs with Apple silicon. It measures your Mac, picks open models that run well on it for chat, writing, code, understanding images and making images, downloads them and sets them up as one assistant. You do not need a terminal or to choose model files yourself.
It works with your documents (scans included), Mail, Calendar and other Mac apps, can answer aloud from the notch, keeps memory, and asks before it changes anything. Once models are downloaded it works offline, and nothing you write leaves the Mac: there is no account and no cloud processing. Only web search, model downloads, update checks and connectors you turn on use the network.
Gerty is made in Switzerland by Erik Vetsch. It costs CHF 49 once for up to 3 Macs, with a 7-day free trial. It needs macOS 26 or later; Macs with 16 GB of memory or more run larger models.
